My name is Jasper Paul and I’m currently a senior at Westminster School located in Simsbury Connecticut. I am a 5’7" point guard born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. I am a Member of the Cowessess First Nations, Treaty 4. As 1 of 7 children in my family, I have grown up watching and playing basketball. I started playing Basketball when I was 5 years old.I began to take it more seriously in grade 8, when I was City Champs for school and Regina Community Basketball Association(RCBA). Since I began in RCBA I was in every final winning over half of the championships. In 2016, I was selected to represent Team Saskatchewan and went to Toronto for the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) for Basketball as the youngest competitor on the team. Then I met Khalid Loda, shortly after that I tried out and joined the Elite Basketball Program run by him. The practices took place on Saturdays from 4-8 PM and Sundays 12-2 PM and 6-8 PM every weekend. My confidence, self-esteem, academics, social life and love for basketball grew from the day onwards. I joined the Elite family and now continue to get better everyday. Over my first year at Elite, I improved in many aspects of the game from ball handling, court IQ, ball movement, 1v1 and team play. The improvement showed on the basketball court by making the senior team in grade 9, then winning city's in grade 10 as well as winning a number of MVP awards during the year. I played AAU during the summer for DTX Basketball. I am eager for my senior season at Westminster High school and will continue to work on my basketball training, conditioning and weight training routine. Currently, I have a 4.0 average and my goal is to become a doctor to devote my life to helping others. I have no interest in being average, rather I want to separate myself from mediocrity to strive for excellence. My one guarantee involves my work ethic, I may not be the most talented or skilled player, yet I will be the hardest working player on and off the court.
I look forward to discussing future opportunities.
